What  is Freestyle Judo:

•Freestyle Judo is not a new form of judo.

• Freestyle Judo is a rule set that allows the full range of judo technique to be practiced.

• Freestyle Judo’s rules are intended to allow contestants to determine the outcome of                  matches, not the referees or penalties.

• More fun and exciting for spectators

What  is different Freestyle Judo:

• “Leg grab” throws are permitted (i.e. Kata-Guruma, Kuchiki-Taioshi, Kibisu-Gaeshi, Te-              Guruma, Sukui-Nage and Morote-Gari).

• Can touch the legs to defend and block

• Kumikata: pistol grip, bear claw grip, 2-on 1 Side grip, and others are permitted as long           as  not  used exclusively for defense.

• Any color Gi/Uniform may be worn, except for Red

• Patches on Gi can be worn as long as they don’t interfere with taking grip (BJJ Gi’s for              example, may not be allowed if the patches prevent gripping)

• Mat area can be square or round ( like wrestling mats)

Freestyle Judo is not a new form of Judo, It is Judo as         it ought to be, Good Judo is Good  Judo!!!

*** Rules maybe forwarded to contestants on acceptance of their enrollment and proof of payment****
